The company’s activities commenced a decade ago by two original founders who had earned their experience working for large internationally operating trading companies, by supplying liquor and tobacco to smaller cruise lines and private yachts making a port of call in the former Dutch colonies.
Over time, the founders envisioned a company with more activities, more domestic markets, a larger portfolio also covering fragrances, cosmetics & skincare as well as gourmet niche products.
Today, all these activities have been combined into one Dutch based company, The Dutchman Duty Free.
Our globally experienced team has participated in managing some of the largest (Dutch) trading companies in the world, and additionally, Duty Free stores on (Dutch) Cruise Lines and the founding partners have been reinforced by professionals with backgrounds within the financial services industry. The team has extensive experience in managing supply contracts, on-board and in-resort pouring, as well as the best technological platforms, accounting and loss prevention systems available.
In contrast to other Duty-Free wholesalers, The Dutchman is truly specialized in the duty free and travel market and not only in guaranteeing consistent supplies, but also in offering on-ground support in order to improve the overall performance and customer experience. This experience comes from our own Duty-Free operations within the Caribbean.

The Dutchman’s corporate office is in The Netherlands with its logistics hubs based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands as also Miami, United States of America and a commercial & marketing office in Bonaire, Dutch Caribbean.
The Sales Support team is based in two different time-zones (CET and EST) and consists of experienced employees, speaking English, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese and Dutch. Sales support can be reached at backoffice@thedutchdf.com.
Our Finance & Administration Department coordinates all financial & administrative services for the group which are centralized out of our corporate office in The Netherlands. The Dutchman Duty Free has an outstanding credit rating with both financial institutions and insurance companies.
